Reclaiming your animal from APARC
To make the process easier, please review the Responsible Animal Ownership Bylaw/Animal Control Bylaw for your city (Medicine Hat, Airdrie), specifically focusing on Licensing requirements and Animal Control Operations.
You may reclaim your animal during open hours by making an appointment.
You will need to present photo identification to reclaim your animal, as well as proof the animal is yours. Ownership can be established with a bill from a local veterinarian, licensing information, or bill of sale with description of the animal. Proof of Spay/Neuter may be required.
We will charge a daily care fee in addition to all city imposed impound fees. If your animal required veterinary attention, all charges must be paid. All fees must be paid in full at the time of reclaim.
All dogs and cats that reside in Medicine Hat and Airdrie must be licensed (this includes having a tag on the animal) before being reclaimed, no exceptions. We can license your animal at our facility, as well as provide a replacement tag if it has been lost.
